Mattel release ALERT!

Mattel Creations will release the LOOKS dolls Sunday April 14. They will also be on Target, Walmart, Amazon.

Mattel Creations will release a set of five 1:6 scale chairs on Tuesday April 16

Can definitely see doll chairs as a form of art on a smaller scale.  I'm kinda crazy about chairs in the first place. 

Barbie's new curtains. She doesn't look impressed. She says she wants a whole new wall. I told her she needs to find a new carpenter.

Good Sunday morning! 

Spring is finally here - temps in the high 50s and the snow is (almost!) all gone. The crocus are just passing and soon we will have daffodils. Better late than never! 

Those Mattel chairs are just great - and I love everyone's chair photos!

I realized I don't have that many chairs - or furniture for that matter - I think it is because so many of my dolls are straight-leg (not all, but most!).

Thanks for the info...The head shots of your girls look great!...I got two of the new LOOKS dolls, the petite and the one in blue...I'm going to try for the chairs today. Wish me luck!..Thanks for all the chair photos. They are just wonderful, love them! Haha, and the one with the horse is cool too 🙂 and the one with Stinky in the sombrero. Thanks for sharing so many of your lovely photos.

Been hot here lately!  Made 87* yesterday.  Not quite so hot today.  Planted some flower seeds a couple of days ago. 

Cardinal has a nest in the honeysuckle...she hatched 3 young but noticed today her nest is empty 😥 don't know what happened to them.  Cat? Sun too hot? (nest was not well shaded). 

JACKIE ~ Thought of you Saturday as you began your adventure.  Hope you have a wonderful time.

KATE ~ Always like the orange and yellow scene!  Stinky in his banana mobile... Yes maybe not so many chairs but what you have are pretty nice!  Love the black sofa and ottoman and the clear swing chair.   I remember when you made the white chairs.  Cool idea...and the wall clock too!   The girls are all dressed in pretty fashion. 

QUELI ~ I like #22....she could be a Bond girl!  #23 her face sure looks familiar...??same headmold as the curvy doll with curly blond hair and red lips?   I liked the gal with bald head...vintage Barbie wigs fit her perfectly!

Hello Ladies, how are you? I hope you're doing well. I'm fine and having lots of fun with my dolls.

Shirley...Wow, you've been having some warm weather!...Hmm, I wonder what happened to the cardinal babies?...That #22 has the Lina face sculpt which is the #1 Looks doll from the first series which is why she seems familiar to you...Yeah, according to Mattel that doll has vitiligo but mine has won her battle with cancer and is just waiting for her hair to grow back...Love that photo of Stinky with his wig 🙂 Your dolls look great in her wigs.

I got my two new Looks dolls on Tuesday. I just love them.

Shirley…my bald Mattel Barbie has alopecia not vitiligo, sorry about that, but she’s still recovering from cancer. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

QUELI ~ I have the same doll...she is the one who modeled the different wigs.  

I like both your new dolls.  The fabric for their fashions is pretty cool.  The blonde is very pretty and love the dress!   Ken is fabulous! 😍 Ooo la la! 

Not sure what happened to the cardinal babies.  One possibility is where she built her nest.  It was in the honeysuckle 'bush' and at first was well shaded but then the plant decided to drop at least half of it's leaves...whether due to a cold snap we had or what, I'm not sure.   Then we had a string of sunny and hot days at about the time her babies hatched.  They have no feathers you know and I think the sun/heat was too intense for them.  She tried to stand over them to provide shade with her body, but that meant she wasn't able to bring them food either.   Next day they were gone.  Not on the ground either.  We have a lot of stray cats and they can climb onto and into all sorts of things.  So, either a cat got them during the night or they died and mama cardinal carried them away in her beak rather than leave them in the nest.  May have to google that theory to see if it's possible.

Good Saturday morning, 

Raining here today but in the 40s so it is warm(ish). Can't complain since it has been sunny and comfortably cool all week. 

Shirls - I'm sorry about MamaCardinal and her babies - sometimes nature can be rough. Maybe she can set up shop somewhere else? 

Love the shot of Barbie placing the wig on Stinky! And all the black/white stripes are iconic! 

Queli - Fabulous new dolls! There are so many new releases to choose from but that makes it fun! I always loved that colorful tuxedo for Ken, too.  

Hope you were able to get some chairs!

I ordered the Barbie x Katrell chairs on Tuesday and got them today 🙂 Some people got them on Thursday! They are as  perfect as perfect can be and look just beautiful! I got two sets because one wasn't enough 🙂

Info I found on the theory of the Cardinal removing the babies from the nest was inconclusive.  Sometimes birds will remove a dead baby from the nest mostly by pushing it out and that is only to prevent contamination of the nest or to not attract predators.  Nothing specific about the whole brood which in that case, the parent bird simply abandons the nest.  My bet is on a cat. 

KATE ~ Right now our temps really cooled down.  Thought we were getting some rain before this cold front, but got about .10.   Not worth mentioning.  It was 36* yesterday morning and 44 this morning.  50's yesterday and low 60's today.  70's the next few days and 80's again by the weekend.   All the rain we got previously has made the yard and the flowers very lush. 

I like your seating possibilities photos.  Love the little red rocker and outdoor swing.  Gummy bears made a nice seat for Julia/Christie.  The Liddle Kiddle house is adorable!  Stinky makes a grand entrance riding an elephant!  

QUELI ~ Barbie having a look at the box is pretty cool!  She is speechless when finds out what is in the box!   Great set of chairs for all to enjoy and relax in!  Getting another set makes it possible to have a pair of each design or multiple uses.
