eBay International Shipping

Just wondering about Sellers' consensus on shipping via eBay International Shipping.  Has it been a positive experience?  Were there problems? 

I've always shipped via USPS First-Class International, which costs more and doesn't offer insurance coverage, but has always been surprisingly fast and reliable and safe...while eBay International is less expensive, offers coverage up to $100, but delivery seems to take longer. 

Any comments based upon actual experience will be greatly appreciated!

@818rpm   You might try posting this on the shipping board where other sellers can respond.  This board is locked to where only a small number of mentors can reply.  

I have heard some bad feedback about trying to get an insurance payout.    The package has to be 30 days late before they will consider it.     I use the GSP so I don't have to worry about lost/ late or damaged in shipment items after they leave Kentucky.    I know some sellers don't care for the GSP because the buyers have to pay more.
