Revise a fixed price listing to auction

I had submitted a couple of fixed price items then listed a third item intended to be auction.  I tried to revise it immediately and they don't allow a fixed price to be changed to auction.  That's horrible.  The only thing I could do was go back and put a high price on the item hoping it doesn't sell so I can relist it correctly.

I want to know why they don't allow that type of change.  It's an easy mistake to make and it puts the seller in a very bad position
