Refund to Buyer Showing as Amount Not Recieved

I accepted a return from a buyer and refunded the purchase price.  The amount now shows up as "Payment not received."  Why doesn't the refund just net off payments received?

I have no idea why ebay shows a refunded item as Not received.

ebay has 2 status: paid and unpaid.

If a transaction is cancelled or refunded, it is unpaid.

If you don't want to see that, you can do this:

My ebay > Purchase history > More actions > Hide order

This has been brought up in the WEDNESDAY CHATS with ebay staff, so they are aware of it.
