HELP WITH LEATHER FIRE BUCKET COAT OF ARMS / SHIELD?

Wondering if this old leather bucket could be a European fire bucket? and if anyone knows what the coat of arms / shield might stand for? Any help as always will be much appreciated. THANKS

Re: HELP WITH LEATHER FIRE BUCKET COAT OF ARMS / SHIELD?

Greetings LostAndFound,

I cannot tell you the origin of the bucket, but I can tell you that the coat of arms shows the 'Order of the Garter', surrounding the Shield of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom.*

I hope that the coat of arms will help you determine the origin of this bucket.

* Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as used by Queen Elizabeth II from 1953 to the present (as used in all her realms except Scotland)

If you do an internet image search, you'll fine lots of similar.  Some are genuinely old; some are modern decorative items such as waste paper baskets.
