Can anyone help me identify this hallmark on this piece from the 1960?

Its a beautiful piece.   I have spent thw last hour trying to find this but I can find nothing.   I am not sure what the under letters are.   I'm so sorry..........I really tried!  Good luck

Thank you. I tried so many different ways to put those letters together and came up with nothing. It is a little like a Miriam Haskell but I can't figure anything out!

I know......and it is clearly a really well made piece. I kept seeing esq in the backround which is NOT what it reads, lol. but the q at the end throws me. Is it "OUQ" in the back with a "U" over? I think the mark reads EUG . At first I thought for Eugene jewelry but he was no longer in business in 1965. Happy hunting. It's a marvelous piece

It looks like the depth and style of 1965 & the 3 initials (?) don't match the large U at all. Especially 1965. 

Is it possible that only part of what we're seeing is the hallmark, and part was "engraved" by/for the original owner?
