Earring Jackets marked AFJ and 826 - what is 826?

Hi!  I have a pair of earring jackets that belonged to my mother.  They are marked AFJ and 826.  I found that AFJ is American Fashion Jewels and sold in a store called Imposters.  I remember the store and buying things for my mother.  But what mark is 826?

Thanks for any help - I appreciate it!  Mary

It is the minimum standard for silver. Coin Silver. Dannish use this mark on jewelry.

HI,

That mark sort of looks like 325.  I found this on google.

325 is the gold fineness expressed as 325% gold (to 1000). it is not a common gold standard.

Tout4090 - I think you are correct.  I got out the magnifying glass (again!) and looking at it really, really close, it does look like 325.  I am definitely not an expert on silver/gold markings and I'll investigate further.  Thank you SO MUCH!  Imposters was a really nice store that sold costume jewelry and was really not inexpensive but had lovely items.  My mother was confined to a wheelchair but she LOVED earrings - thus I have a large supply of earrings for pierced ears and unfortunately mine aren't pierced (and nor are they ever likely to be).

Thanks again, Mary
