My concern and questoins relate to the tracking upload/validation change from 90% to 95%.
If everything goes well, this does not see like a big deal. I strive for 100% as promised in my listings.
However, there are times that things just don't work like that.
1. I currently have a late shipment/scan transaction that has brought down my percentage. Customer support has finally admitted that there is a problem on their side and the tracking information didn't get captured on time and caused the late shipment to be recorded on my account. Even though I can clearly see the ship on time, tracking validated on time right on the order details page, transation is held against me as a late shipment and CS tells me that it cannot be removed and I should not "worry" about it and to call back if it causes me to lose TRS.
2. We live in an area that has been hit with some severe winter weather and my carrier has been unable to get to my street on several occassions this winter. Of course these are minor weather issues that cause me grief but are not serious enough to affect a widespread area. I was able to hike 1 mile (with packages) to meet the carrier but this is just an example of weather or things out of our control affecting that upload time.
Severe weather, floods ( even in San Jose) happen. We can do our best but sometimes things happen.
3. Saturday, I shipped about 30 packages and the carrier picked them up (all orders from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon) but it was a new carrier and some of the packages did not record a scan until Sunday afternoon. Why? I have no reason. I watched the carrier pick up the packages. I shipped on Saturday to get a jump on things and I have to worry that they will be counted against me because the scan was not on time?
4. Low volume sellers do not seem to have much leeway when it comes to losing top rated seller for late scans or no uploads. Is this 95% going to unfairly disadvantage smaller sellers? Is it really going to take only one or two late scans to bump a low volume seller out of trs?
Ebay, Can you discuss how this is going to work and help me understand this new metric?

My concern is if we have one bad day - for example, acts of nature - and our shipping is uploaded "late". That is going to hurt our TRS status, and I can only hope that does not happen. Totally unfair to tighten up that restriction.
I am curious, has ebay made any harsher restrictions for buyers who misuse returns? Thoise people need to be suspended! But that's a probelm on the other side of the coin, and I would like to know if it's being addressed by ebay's developers. It's getting out of control with this 30 day return policy.

@lintbrush* As we are closing the board soon, I'm conscious we may not get to all the information you need for your question before the top of the hour. We are going to have a specialist reach out to you directly so that we can answer your question in full.

The answer is, ready for this? NO!
About a year ago I had a guy request a return for wrong item ordered, buyer pays shipping, of course I accept. Day later, I get a email from ebay that the claim has been escalated. He took the item to the PO and realized it was like $20 to ship back, called ebay and told them he was confused by the description, and they changed the request to seller pays!! The item was a part for a particular automobile, with part #, no confusion was possible. I called ebay CS and they had to put me on hold twice to concoct a story they could tell me as to how this was possible. The best part, I could no longer print a label through ebay because he had escalated the claim!! I was told to mail him one. Needless to say I refunded him the $100 and moved on. Try getting ebay to change a decision as a seller, impossible!

Not sure I understand why you sent me this message. I didn't ask a question, at least not on this thread. I was merely trying to point out the wrong answers others were giving. Do you also represent ebay staff members? Your ID doesn't look like you do.

Thanks @raquel_bayarea, but I already know the answer. I was just hoping with the change in the Tracking Upload Requirement for TRS that eBay would consider removing marks against it when the delay was due to a customer requested delay in shipment.
I can either provide good customer service and take a hit on my dashboard; or
I can tell the buyer I can't help them because eBay won't let me without it potentially hurting my seller status and that I'll have to cancel their sale and have them re-pay at a later date and maybe it'll still be available for purchase. Their money is no good.
Sorry if I sound jaded. It is not my nature, but this just makes no sense to me.

If this is regarding the tracking upload metric, will you be sharing the answer here with everyone once you get the answer?
I believe we are all interested in the outcome, since printing our label a week early isn't the answer to avoid late tracking uploads due to buyers request.

I agree as are a couple other threads regarding the Update. The Ebay employees are trying to move related threads into some main threads [like this one] and some of those other threads are on different subjects. Darn confusing!

Hi Everyone,
I have read each comment on this thread and want you to know we are taking all feedback for review - Huge thanks for bringing great insight and questions so we can make sure you are able to manage your Seller Performance.
Most of the questions that we have not been able to address before the board closes are real scenarios where the Tracking metric calculation counts your transaction as a miss where it is outside of your control. We are aware these scenarios exist and review these through customer support to resolve the miss. To understand what we do in Protections today further, please review the details in the Seller Center here.
Stay in touch with us after the board closes. Look for alan@ebay 's post to learn how when we close.

How fair is it to give me 8 hits for the same shipment? Guy ordered losts of stuff and I shipped it on time but the post office did not scan it and I got 8 dinks all for the same order!!!

The thread is a day and a half old and no one has addressed one question I have.
On my seller dashboard I have one percentage for
Tracking uploaded on time and validated Tracking uploaded on time and validated
When I expand it, it is broken down into three parts
Here's a breakdown of transactions in which tracking wasn't uploaded on time or didn't receive a carrier scan. Reason Quantity % Not uploaded at all 0 0.00% Uploaded late 0 0.00% Uploaded on time but no carrier scan 0 0.00% Total 0 0.00%
When deciding to DEMOTE us from Top Rated seller, Just how does eBay break it down? There is only one scale with the TRS requirement shown (today as 90%)
So could someone please tell me exactly how this works and which percentage the 95% is used?
