I think that function is found on the Scroll part of your mouse.

Would be pretty easy to do. You either
1. Scroll past the post you’re not interested in.
2. Don’t respond to posters you don’t want to communicate with.
Otherwise there is no filter for what your asking for.

The old boards used to have an ignore function, but it disappeared when Khoros took over. Most message boards have it, it makes moderating much easier and effective.
I’ve been asking to get it back for years, not sure what the motivation behind not providing it is.

Not sure why you'd need a special function. You can ignore posts here by not reading, not responding and just scrolling on past. Simple enough.

For the same reason we have spam filters: they don’t cost anything and they make life a little easier.
Back when the boards did have the feature, I remember the regulars of the time very thankful for it.

The lack of Ignore option was a deliberate choice made by Jeff Terrell, who was in charge of the transition to Lithium (now Khoros) back in 2013. At a focus group that he held with board members in which various options for features and format were reviewed, most of the board members wanted this option but Jeff felt that it would disrupt the board, be "confusing" (due to skipped posts) and divisive. This stance was consistent with his firm "no negative vibes" policy. Perhaps his current successor can be persuaded to activate it.

It's my perception that his current successor also has a firm "no negative vibes" policy.

Well then we can wait for the next one.

One could argue that being able to ignore a user’s posts would promote positive and harmony by preventing acrimonious back and forth between posters who have beef.
Granted, there’s no lady-of-the-lake level disruptive posters at the moment, but I still see it as a positive tool.

Meaning waiting for one who prefers negative vibes?

One with a more balanced viewpoint, rather than a Pollyanna who avoids critical thinking. As noted in another post, most discussion boards have an option to block posts from specific members.
