One distinction might be between a full double impression, i.e. printed twice, and a "kiss print" - a kind of slight bounce in the printing process which would produce a fainter "echo" image alongside the main image. The latter being less scarce, naturally. Can you not make a good sized scan to show the detail, and post it here? I'm not sure how anyone can really respond without something to look at ...
