We are in shock out here in California. Kobe Bryant, the Lakers have always been part of the community. Bryant was a power house player, but a nice human being. Human with flaws and sins. Say a prayer for his wife, Vanessa, and the three girls who are in crisis after hearing of their father and sister being killed. Kobe and Gigi attended Mass at 7 a.m. before going to the airport. Weather was good, then they were in Burbank and circled 12 minutes until the fog conditions improved and other air traffic was cleared. They took off and had nearing more fog, the pilot signaled he was flying up to a higher altitude which he did to 1300 ft. Then made a left sweeping turn, and unfortunately the helicopter did not make it over that last hillside. Pilot was top rated. Perfect flying record. Also was an instructor. A tragic accident. Helicopter hit and burst into flames immediately.
So very sad....we loved Kobe. tremendous father with 4 daughters, youngest is 7 months old. Tragic. Say a prayer for him and his grieving family, as well as the other teamate of Giggi and her parents, plus another couch, and another couple.
A terrible, surreel couple of days.
