suspicious of amazon firestick return

I have been notified buyer is returning amazon firestick I sold to him. This firestick was in perfect condition (I used it like twice). With so much out there about hacking this device how can I check that this device wasn't rooted (or whatever term is used to hack this device) and I can resell again with confidence its still ok.

Check for a factory reset option under settings when you get it back.

Do a factory reset.
