I listed an item for $9.99 and it shows there are two bids and it is still at $9.99. Can you anyone know what that means.

If the bid showing is still at the opening bid price, then both bids are from the same member.

You have one bidder that probably put in a second (higher) bid in hopes they will still win if another bidder comes along and doesn't bid high enough to win.

Totally understand that. You and I opened our accounts roughly the same time but I find that I learn something new on these boards every day.

I have been here since 1998 with 3 Ebay IDs (two for selling) and I learn something new on these boards virtually every few days. Keep in mind that Ebay is constantly changing policies and forms too. You need to stay informed.

What distinguishes the two selling accounts, just curious?

Both bids are from the same bidder, according to the bid history.
That one bidder can bid a thousand dollars, and, unless there is another bidder, that showing bid will remain at $9.99.

I have known this for a long time
when you see that the bidder means business
it also open the bidder up to an unscrupulous seller who can tell sense an eager bidder
it can put the bidder up against bid shielding on an eager bidder
