Someone wants to hire me to list. What should I charge?

Someone selling antiques wants to hire me just to list the items. They will send me photos, all I have to do is research the item and create a listing.  He's asking for my rate. I'm thinking 30% but I really have no idea.

Re: Someone wants to hire me to list. What should I charge?

Dealer is requesting to hire someone for their experience and knowledge of using eBay as a selling(marketing) platform to sell their antiques and requires O.P. to do research on the items O.P. a "data entry" person does not include research.

as @7606dennis and @downunder-61   has pointed out

min wage is not enough even if this were a strictly data entry position which it is not.

I would like to add ,

the WORK involved with creating a listing and as a side note who knows if the pictures the antique dealer is willing to provide will in the end be clear and show details needed to sell provide enough information for a sale

You can learn you're owner's antique's in a few months....maybe a year. If you can learn to identify what makes that antique valuable, then you can either ask for a raise, or use that information to become a seller yourself.

That takes MANY years and thousands of hours to learn.

Yep,  I know someone who entered 4.2M in orders this morning before 8:00a.m.   Believe me the annual salary for that position is well over 100K all for working from home.

If all you are doing is listing I pay my employees $1-$2 per listing.
