Well, my main problem, as I keep mentioning, is that my sales are in the dumper. They are down by 60% and it is the holiday shopping season, will we be getting our sales rush this year? It is looking more and more like this won't be happening.
Does Ebay want to keep us here, or do they not care? I'm a good seller, don't they want good quality sellers to make their site a great place to shop? How many other sellers are having slow to no sales this season? I see the board full of them. Would love to hear from other sellers about their experiences. If you’re doing well, please share your secrets. If you’re doing poorly please add your voice to this discussion. It does help when you know you aren't alone.
I’m following all their suggestions and more, constantly tweaking and updating, trying to chase down what works here. It is very difficult, when things keep changing. We’re trying to stay at Ebay because we believe this is a great place to sell. We just would love for it to work properly.
I am trying to get my sales kick started by taking some of the great suggestion that a few of the posters have given for Ebay and ended some items, waited a few days and then relisted them using sell similar. I did do the promoted listings again, which I don’t like at all, but I’m afraid that this is a necessary evil after reading what others have said. I listed a bunch of Christmas ornaments and I’ve added more free shipping to more of my listings. Maybe I'll try to list some more stuff today. So hopefully these things will help, whenever the site starts working properly again, that is. Still waiting …
It is hard to stay motivated, when you try everything and nothing seems to help.
I did start selling on another site (and actually got a sale today, yay), but of course I'm new and don't have a seller reputation like I do here on Ebay. I would much rather stick with where I have all my history and with what I am familiar with. It would be great if Ebay would please stop changing things and concentrate on fixing things instead, so we can get back to selling. We just want to love you again Ebay. No hate here, just frustration, major frustration. I would much rather be packing up boxes then writing on this board, believe me.

Even the other poster's screenshot shows that they did a simple ONE WORD search. No where can you expect to find anything on the net being that vague. Ebay was even kind enough to show him/her that if they want to see everything to (CLICK HERE) for those who have hours to waste searching every word on the Ebay search engine.
Come back with an item you cannot find and I will find it for you and PROVE once in for all that Ebay is not hiding anything you have listed. Not just a search that says TOY like the other poster attempted to do. You have to be specific like a buyer would be when searching for an item.
First, the other poster did not use a "one word search", he used the exact name and a model number.
Secondly, I don't think I read it wrong? You stated "Even though you cannot see your listings, they are still there." So now you're saying that because a potential buyer can click on a button "see everything" the items aren't hidden? For one thing these elusive buttons are hard to find and for another buyers may not even know about them, which I didn't and I've been on the site for 10 years. SO, if an item is hidden from view, then I would consider it hidden.
Once again, I would say that if Ebay would show our listings (without having to go through another step to find them) our sales would be great and this is the main point. It's disturbing to me to think my items are not being seen unless someone clicks on something else to uncover them. This is exactly why my sales are awful!

Back when I was trying to buy a cashmere sweater on ebay, I noticed that the same key words would return different search results, sometimes a significant difference in number, within a few hours or within a day.
The search results were certainly inconsistent.
I was not shown all the possible listings at all time.
And yes I typed the same "women's red cashmere sweater XS" every time.
And no I was not given "the most relevant listings". It was just plain simple normal search results where a buyer could not expand to the less relevant results.
I don't mean to debate with anyone ( I don't enjoy debates). I am just sharing a fact.
I have 1000+ feedback in my other account (I only opened this new account to make a secret purchase). I am an active, experienced user who is familiar with this site.
It is not me, the buyer, it is ebay.

The problem with that link is it is hidden in a way that is hard to find like you pointed out. The BIGGER problem is if you click on it the RESULTS COUNT DOESN'T CHANGE! I was complaining to a friend about it who passively buys and sells on eBay one day. His exact words were "I didn't think that link did anything since the count didn't change". I about screamed, because I always figured that would be a problem on top of the obscured link. Why would anyone think that link does something if they count doesn't change and the results almost look the same???

BTW, when I searched for "whale plush huge" this morning the first few listings I was given were plush dog, monkey, bear, and tiger.
Those listings didn't even have the word "whale" anywhere in the title.
That was not a pleasant search experience.
An impatient buyer would have left seeing this.

Now, let's just say that eBay is hiding items "to drive a positive user experience." I mean, it says so in the UA, right? With that in mind, your premise above is completely illogical. Like, everybody would have more sales if eBay would quit hiding items. You really think buyers are lacking in options that they can't make buying decisions? Are your items for sale, and everybody else's items, so special that a buyer can't make an informed decision? You really think buyers are not buying because they can't find your items? If your items are being hidden, wouldn't it make sense that many other sellers of the same stuff you are selling, are also being hidden? So, if you and all the other sellers of the same stuff are not hidden, how does that create more sales for you and everybody else? It makes no sense!

@coolections wrote:You both keep asking for evidence about Ebay hiding your items. I've asked many times, but so far no one has stepped up to the plate. Please when you do a search and cannot find your item come here.

You were saying... "no one has stepped up to the plate"...?
You've seen the evidence. So why are you still harassing sellers and misrepresenting the truth?
This is a constant pattern. You make false claims, misrepresent what sellers say, claim you've never seen evidence even though you have. Ignore the evidence. And repeat.

I would like to know why has there been No communication from Ebay since the Jordan email that things were going to change. That was quite a few weeks ago. The clock is ticking and as far as I am concerned things are getting worse not better. Where did he go?

I agree that I too am frustrated with the slow sales this holiday season. I have tried several ways to increase my sales by lowering prices and offering free shipping. I have sold 6 items since Sept and I normally would be at 10 tens that volume right now! I know that there are heated discussions on how well the economy is really doing and if the current political climate is making consumers extremely cautious. I don't the the answers but I see that there are many sellers like myself who are frustrated and not motivated. Thanks for hearing me out!

Pretty sure that's the case yes, when I see sales for an item I have listed (NIB current in demand item) and buyers paying double my listed price.

I've seen similar search results for years now. At one time I even went into every single listing that was NOT what I was looking for, to see if my main keyword was somewhere (anywhere) on that listing and nope. Apparently AI decided it knew better than me what I was looking for.

If they can't see my items, but are seeing others, because mine are hidden behind some elusive button, then yes I think buyer's cant make an informed decision, because they aren't getting all the information.
You really think buyers are not buying because they can't find your items? If your items are being hidden, wouldn't it make sense that many other sellers of the same stuff you are selling, are also being hidden?
They can't hide everyone, obviously, but the ones "ebay is choosing" to show are not me, because my sales s*ck and I see my same items being bought at higher prices, from sellers with less then perfect feedback. Maybe Ebay should choose to show good quality sellers. I think that would be a better decision.
So, if you and all the other sellers of the same stuff are not hidden, how does that create more sales for you and everybody else? It makes no sense!
What makes no sense is your statement above. I am saying my items are hidden and from what coolections mentioned my items are hidden behind a "show all" button. So, I'm just asking that my items be available in search results. This would cure my slow sales posts and buyers would be happier because they would be getting items from a high quality seller.
11-22-2019 08:51 AM
Ok, I get it now. You're a "high quality seller" with amazing in demand items at the best prices, but for whatever reason, eBay is singling you out and blocking buyers from your items. Good luck with that thinking.

I tried a new approach, i killed all listings 2 weeks ago and then started relisting similar to item slowly noticing the items get immediate wievs but then if they dont sell within say 1-3 days they completely stop getting viwed so i can for sure say there is somekind of curlyshuffle being played with listings if they dont sell right away, and now you list good till cancel for 30 days until your listing hets to the 5 day day window it is a lame sitting duck.
