Promoted Listings Standard question

!-I have read e-Bays pages for the PLS, but still do not understand why, even though I have chosen to promote all listings in the past 5 mos., approx. 25% of my sales were for non- promoted items. I chose 2% across the board, when originally listing each item.

2- I understand the meaning of campaign, but not e-Bay's usage.

Please enlighten me and thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge.

My guess… is those buyers found your listings by scrolling through the category they are in and purchased. I get those too.

My understanding is ..When a buyer clicks on a promotion from another sellers listing or was watching the item your charged the promotional fee for that sale or they found it out side eBay as an ad.

If I’m incorrect, someone will be along to correct me.

25% of your buyers purchased from your listings organically. Meaning when your 2% fee wasn't high enough to earn a top search result spot, and the buyer found your listing at it's intended placement had there been no PLS on it at all.
