Product database disaster! Sixbit customer service saved the day!

Last December I had an operating system failure on the laptop that I use to list my products.  I thought that all 5000 of my product pictures and listing data was gone.  I bought a new computer and connected the hard drive from my old laptop to the new laptop.  The data was still there but I could not install it.

I opened a service ticket with Sixbit, we set up a session where Clay remoted into my computer and was able to re-install my database in less than 30 minutes.  His exceptional efforts saved 1000's of hours worth of work.  Without his help I would have had to take all new photos, dimensions, weights ect for every product that I have sold.

The $35 per month that I pay Sixbit to use their service is the best money I have every spent.  Everyone at the company that I have worked with is top notch, the software will save you time and if you every get in trouble their team is there to help you out.

It is a very good product.

I would never need to take new photos because all of my photos are named to match my inventory number and I make sure I have a backup of all that work.

Feel ya my friend. I use sixbit and had that happen when the hurricane hit Wilmington. My desktop got wiped out with the electrical surges - I forgot to shut down the circuit breakers to my building 😞

Anyway, took a couple weeks to get a new computer here and they gave me the instructions to recover my database to a fresh sixbit install. Was smooth as butter and the image recovery was pretty straight forward as well. Good people and a good value for managing your eBay listings. I wish they would grow the number of platforms they support. The only issue I have as a small seller is the database issue. At 1gb, you are literally at the max your sql server will handle so you have to keep that under control size wise. Otherwise, you have to get a licensed SQL that handle larger file sizes and that is 2K a year per user.... and that is no cheap solution 🙂

Cheers

I have a backup of my photos, that being said there is a lot more information stored in my database than that.  Sixbit organizes all of it and does a lot more.  If you haven't tried the product I recommend giving the 30 day free trial a go.
