Someone purchased an item & asked to cancel. Then they repurchased. The item arrived damaged and they never reached out to me. They left negative feedback & then mistakenly left another neg for someone else on the canceled transaction section. They refused to revise it so I called EBay. They removed the words ( that had nothing to do with my transaction) but kept the 2nd negative. The buyer then went back and wrote an additional negative about the same transaction. eBay is refusing to remove the 2nd neg. Doesn’t violate their policy to have 2 strikes for 1 sale? This is crazy! Any advice?

When you cancelled the first transaction, what was the reason you selected?  This is important, what was it?

The buyer asked me to cancel. Which is true. He purchased a local pick up item and expected me to ship it. I agreed but I had to cancel & revise the listing. I was doing HIM a favor!

You had two transactions, and feedback is associated with a transaction and not a sale. And as far as I know, canceling a transaction does not automatically remove the associated negatives.

I have asked to cancel transactions because the seller refused to honor the combine shipping discount we negotiated upfront. Had I felt strongly enough and chosen to leave a negative, I would hope eBay would not remove it.

I would contact Ebay again as when you cancel using the reason the buyer asked for the cancellation, they should be barred from leaving negative FB.  That is a rule and a good one.

The second FB is likely not removable.  Sorry.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.  Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is.  Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message.  It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left.  If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.  Not all options are available 24/7.  It will depend on staffing available.  So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.  If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

When a buyer requests a cancellation and the seller approves it, then the seller files a cancellation using the reason the buyer requested it, the buyer is suppose to be barred from leaving a negative or neutral FB.

Unless that has been a recent change that I didn't catch, which is always possible.

Seriously? He purchased a local pick up & then wanted me to ship it. To do that the transaction had to be cancelled & changed. I helped him out by doing this. I deserve a negative review on a cancellation the buyer asked for???

Have you contacted ebay through facebook yet to explain the situation?  If you filed the cancellation using buyer requested and you have proof they requested this, it should be removed.   Buyers are not blocked from leaving feedback on buyer requested transactions, but they are supposed to be removed per the rules.  I just hope that the phone in reps didn't mess this process up by only removing the wording and not the rating.

Good.  I asked because it is important as to what reason you selected.  Since you selected that the buyer requested the cancellation on the first transaction, you need to contact Ebay and share that with them.  Tell them you got an email from the buyer requesting this.  The FB should get removed for the FIRST transaction.

They said that even though they asked to cancel it is 2 separate transactions & they can leave negative for both. When I talked to FB eBay for business they told me they can’t do anything & that they also don’t have the ability to connect me with a supervisor.
