I typically give feedback to buyers as soon as payment has been made, however, their feedback is often not left. Is it appropriate to message them to leave feedback?

No....feedback is voluntary. You very well may regret asking them.

No rule saying you cannot do that BUT I would not

It may irritate some buyers feeling like they are being bothered or that 1 buyer who was on the fence of giving other then positive that push to do that

Not all buyers leave feedback no matter how great the experience was for them

Don't send me a message begging for feedback.  You'll never get it that way, at least not from me.  That goes for buyers and sellers.  Feedback is pretty much worthless

Don't poke the bear...as it were.  As a seller, I hate when a buyer messages me asking for FB.  I leave FB for every single buyer once tracking shows the item is delivered.  The ones that bug have to wait a bit longer.  No news is good news.  You already have a nice FB score, so don't sweat it!
