So apparently ebay has shut down CS Phone option, claiming it's due to "guidance of local health authorities in concern to Covid-19" and now you need to email them... but no agency has told companies they should shut down their customer phone support... not in the US anyways.

ebay customer service for the most part is in other countries

It seems that states are the ones making these decisions. California may have made that decision. Local government in San Jose, Ca. may have made that decision.
In my state, many companies are closed.

Strange, because it seems to me eBay phone support is for the most part offshored.

I just noticed this, as I need to appeal an unwarranted defect. What are we supposed to do if we can't contact CS???

they have it set up to email them now instead of calling, but how long it will take to get anyone to see that email or respond, or actually help you...idk ... it's all up in the air... good time for it too, since invoices just rolled over today for many sellers.

You can contact customer support. Use the email option to do this.

some is yes, but there is a large amount in CA also, even though people think it's not.
It could have been CA/local government advisement but it's definitely not Federal, Trump was just on yesterday saying there is no need or plans to shut everything down right now in the US, just preparations in case they have to.

lovely. and no warning? I did email them, god only knows when I'l hear back, CS is terrible on the phone, email will be as scripted, if not worse. BTW, how do we tag the eBay employees that manage this site? They seem to be the most helpful.

I called them yesterday from California and the call center was in Utah...and now even email support is shut down.
And the call center has the ONE ANSWER I need.
