Chinese shippers, tracking numbers and ship-times (Ebay should crack down)

"This item has shipped." And a tracking number.  Ah, no.  The item has not shipped.  It won't ship until a huge amount of product can fill a container and slowly sail across the ocean.  Trying to track using these numbers yields nothing.  Ebay should really crack down on this activity, it's misleading.

Did you know that ebay sends out the "your item has shipped" email every time the seller uuploads tracking or prints the label? Has nothing to do with chinese sellers.....

Then it's Ebay's system which doesn't surprise me.  Ebay was never originally designed to handle mass shipments by large vendors.  The whole thing needs re-engineering.    No wonder Amazon is killing them just like the retail sector.

Did you check the estimated time of arrival before you bought to see if you will get the item in a timely manner?

The best way to deal with late deliverys from Asian sellers is to A - not buy from them, and/or B - file INR disputes the minute you can.

There is a lot of dissatisfaction expressed by buyers towards off shore sellers.

And it is frustrating and erodes buyer confidence.

Any large US vendor/warehouse would most likely have their own UPS or Fed ex or even USPS processing/manifesting system, so all they would need to do is upload the tracking numbers from it nightly.

True, but unfortunately, ebay will never see it that way.

You want ebay to damage what they seem to consider their cash cow? Nope.

I understand, but it is damaging Ebay's reputation.

And possibly their bottom line.
