This problem has been increasing for a couple of years. My niche is Theater Memorabilia. People selling inexpensive reprints of movie posters (and the like) have been listing in my category, often pages and pages of listings at a time. This makes it difficult for browsers interested in theater collectibles to find the sort of things that they are looking for and I think that this results in fewer sales (in a category that is already beset). This morning, in addition to the usual batches of misplaced posters, a Japanese company has listed pages and pages of non-theater merchandise, sort of Nipponese Fan Club kind of stuff, some of it verging on porn, and one listing outright porn, featuring a bare-breasted model (yes, I reported it.) As far as I can tell, ebay has no place to report listings that are in the wrong category, and they are appaently not interested in policing this. But to clutter up a site with incompatible merchandise is a sales-killer for those who do list in the correct category.
