Buying without paying until the next day

I have a buyer for an item and we agreed that he will pay for it tomorrow after a funds transfer. He Bought it but hasn't paid, and it still shows up as active in listings I thought that buyers have 48 hours in which to pay. He's worried that because he hasn't paid for it yet, that someone else will come in and buy it and pay right away. Is there anything I can do to hold it for him? Hasn't he "bought" it?

If your listing has "Immediate payment required" then it is still for sale until your buyer pays for it. You might be able to revise the listing and un-check it. An alternative would be for the buyer to make an offer, which you could accept, since IPR doesn't apply to accepted offers.
