Account closure

After 18 years, I asked to close my account due to a dispute from a buyer. It's discerningly to do so, but e-bay has a tendency to side with buyers, not sellers and not willing to look at all facts presented , never mind the high fees. there are other sites to sell, some are free of fees or lower. Have to wait 1 month to quit them.

What kind of a dispute? Seems like a shame to quit eBay because of ONE buyer.

What facts do you want them to look at?

If the buyer claims not as described eBay doesn't look at the seller's facts. They can't  tell who is telling the truth or who is lying. They just side with the buyer. You get the item back and the buyer gets their money back.  If you ask eBay to decide they might refund the buyer and not require them to return it if you don't offer refunds or you haven't accepted the return and provided a return label.

I cannot tell from the OP if this is an eBay case or a "dispute" but if it is a dispute, aka chargeback, there is a high probability that the buyer will be fully refunded and the seller will NOT get the item back. It is becoming an ever increasing problem for all merchants especially ecommerce sites.

Were you waiting for a reason to leave Ebay?

not sure what to say

buyer abuse or return abuse at ebay is common at times

sooner or later a transaction comes around to bite you and you end up with a loss

today is a new day so put that stuff in your rearview mirror and look ahead

You've had several very unhappy customers complaining about your poor packaging. I would assume you are talking about a snad complaint due to poor packaging.

Closing your account takes a while.

I think most of us know this already but thanks for sharing.

Well, of course you know your own business best, but do remember that as long as you are in retail,  and no matter where you conduct your retail business, you are going to have to deal with the occasional bad customer and take the occasional loss.  If you can no longer tolerate doing either one, then you really must rethink being in retail at all.

Anyhow, happy trails wherever they lead you.

Well said,  Walmart doesn't have camera's all over to see the shine on the resilient tile floors nor does BestBuy had a sign that says "Returns" cuz' that's where the return shopper get's their lollipop.
