Search function not working today either (Feb 3)

I didn't experience problems searching the past few days like others but I am this morning...the search function isn't working at all even if you type something generic like "jacket"...comes up saying "No exact matches found".

I'm experiencing the same issue in Chrome (Windows 10) and on the app (Android 12).

(Interestingly, each filter displays its count of results.)

I can reproduce the error in Chrome Incognito, and from different networks.

But the search does work from a private window in Firefox.

Hopefully it's fixed soon.

Search is not working (No exact matches found) on iPhone, MacBook Pro, etc. for items known to currently exist in the system.

and if you try to view other items for sale from a seller,  you get 0 results,   so I guess nobody is selling anything on ebay today

Funny how ebay's system status page shows everything is awesome and working.  I still can't find anything when I try the serch.

If a search that worked well previously suddenly starts behaving badly, often the problem has something to do with a faulty keyword substitution or an inappropriate automatic category navigation issue.

You can bypass many of these sorts of issues by putting one of your keywords in quotes. This forces eBay to bypass those "smart" search features and to search for the literal keywords without any substitution or category switching. You may have to manually specify your category once again.
