With that shape and signature it looks like an artisan pottery piece. They are hard to ID as there are many artisan potters all over the country.

This is what we would call 'studio', and could likely only be identified by the mark, but very difficult to find in any reference. As to the shape, with the very narrow neck, this is a 'seed' vase, or vessel, or container, and was apparently so used by native Americans to preserve seeds from one season to the next by plugging the narrow opening. Hope this helps.
