Help Id this German jar with acorns

Do you know what it reads German and what is it used for. 8" to the top of acorn.  Marked on bottom what looks like 1404  than an A.  Who made this? thank you

I did what you told me and it worked. It reads I was the prince of Venice . I could be more comfortable. Here I drink sorrow free. forest air and golden wine. I really don't get it but that is what he said. thank you
