Could use some help Id'ing this little pottery - critter? thing? gizmo?

It is approx. 3.25" long - nose to - tail? and about 2" tall - heavy for its size at 7.3oz. any clues?  I THINK part of the signature says Quebec..... but....... Thanks for ANY input!

I believe these are usually described as hedgehogs.

It is a hedgehog… am I right in thinking that the ceramic is ribbed ? Because if it is, ten I believe what you have is a Chia Pet hedgehog. You take chia seeds and make a paste of seeds & water and smooth it over the ribbed area. Then is starts growing a little greenery. I believe you mist them to water them.
