Any ideas on what these small Dresden plates might be?

They are size of saucers.

Any ideas on what these small Dresden plates might be?

It's an egg cup. I had one, the same size and shape but a different coloring. And I found my exact one on Replacements identified as an egg cup.

No idea what they were designed for, but they'd sure be useful for appetizers with a dipping sauce in the center!

That's what I was thinking. Mini "chip n dip" (a real term) plates.

Maybe shrimp with cocktail sauce? In any case "Individual Chip n Dip" - perfect Covid era dinnerware

@cindyjnc,

 

Depending on the size of the little raised bowl in the middle, it might work to support a soft boiled egg. The saucer part would give you a place to set the spoon, and the bits of toast.
