Motorcyclists Roll to Soldiers' Funerals
By RYAN LENZ

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (Feb. 21) - Wearing vests covered in military patches, a band of motorcyclists rolls around the country from one soldier's funeral to another, cheering respectfully to overshadow jeers from church protesters.

The rest of the story, in post 2, so ya don't have to scroll by a long post!

Hopefully, we will be doing PGR rides for the soldiers coming home from Iraq. I feel if the people of Iraq are in a civil war, we should back off til they decide who's gonna be in charge over there. I'm already tired of missions for the dead.

Here's a unofficial mission for a CHP officer that was killed by a passing motorist a few miles from my home.

"A friend of mine just happened to be heading north on interstate 101 at the same time our convoy was heading to the burial site in San Bruno. Both she and her mother were taken aback by the shear length and breadth of the escort. As she described the procession in greater detail, I realized that it was indeed, ours."

She commented that "it must've been someone very important or famous to have rated such a huge escort." I told her that he was indeed, "an important person; though not famous, and most cetainly, not one to be found in a Bay Area social roster or a "Who's Who" among the Rich and Famous. "He was neither a former politician, nor a celebrated actor." "He was not a famous athlete, nor a wealthy corporate magnate." "But he was an important person."

"He was important among his many friends and important to his teachers at Liberty Union High School. And he was important to the many young kids of Sequoia Elementary - who flocked to the fence with signs, as we slowly passed by". And now, I added, "he is important among each of the sixty plus, Patriot Guard Riders from throughout Northern California.

"He was an important young Soldier; a brave, and true American Hero." "He defended our freedoms." "He wasn't famous," I added, "but Specialist Joseph A. Graves was a very important person"

Chief

Pretty sad, but good we recognize our soldiers now. Thanks, Trident. My buddy that just came from IL through Sturgis, said he had not seen it. I am e-mailing photos to show him when he gets home. Here's the trailer he was towing, thought you might be curious.
He really likes it. Worked great for his trip out here, and the 3+ days he stayed at Sturgis. He goes every year, and about every 5 years, keeps going until he reaches my house in CA! Didn't even call me, said it was a nice ride even if I wasn't home.

There's a lot of Time Outs at the Davis Rallye that we go to in Iowa. The top folds back and down and becomes the floor to the dressing room. Pretty neat set up, but lightly built as compared to some of the others. 'Course, that also means easier pulling and less braking effect.

Always a trade off. I wouldn't trade my bunkhouse for any of the new ones, just because I can park my bike in under the awning and zip it tight.

That's what I told Dennis, but I couldn't find a saved photo of yours in the rain, remember that one? PGR members would like to see that from your arcives, Tri.
