I need to ID two buttons.

The first shows a shield with a crown over it, and the shield has some markings, like a crest. The back is marked L Kolbe Co Darmstadt. That is in Germany. In researching the company, almost all I could find were references to them displaying buttons at the 1862 International Exhibition. I couldn't find any buttons with that backmark.

The second is one piece brass and has the cross pattee on it. Is this one Grman??? No back mark.
