How do I find out what kind of stones are in this jewelry?

The jewelry was purchased in South America, although I forget which country. I vaguely recall that the stone was specific to that region and one other in the Middle East somewhere.

Thanks so much for your help!

What photos - angle, lighting, anything - could I take that would help with the identification?

google search blue lapis to see if that is a possibility. Micro setting/extreme closeup may help

Does it have any pyrite ( gold flecks ) in it ? Lapis Lazuli often does .
Although Lapis can also be found in the U.S. , Canada , Russia , and Italy .

It would be from Chile;  lapis is mined there.

Looks like Lapis-go to a jeweler and they can confirm for you. The jeweler must have knowlege and training in gemstone identification. Get them to give you some kind of certificate stating as such and photograph the certificate and show it as proof of the stones in the piece.
