Both are set in sterling, no clue, no idea where to start looking 🙂
One appears to have dried grass?? or something in it.
The other was really hard t capture, sort of a translucent banding??
Thanks

I think the 2nd one, the one with the "rods" in it, is rutilated quartz.

Wow you're quick mforjan 🙂
I'll have to look that up, never heard of it

I only thought of it because I have had a few pieces with that stone in the past 😊

I agree with the rutilated quartz for the second one, and I think the first one is gray banded agate. I love both of them, but especially the rutilated quartz. It's gorgeous!!

Thanks christinesclassicjewelry 🙂
I find these, I'm drawn to them, but I never have a clue as to what they are.
I describe them to google😅 even google doesn't know what I'm talking about!!!

The first one I think I am seeing a cross hatch at the top. Is it possible to take a soft backlight image?

Another “ditto” on the rutilated quartz. I’ve always loved that stone!

I am thinking something like Labradorite. But not an expert on stones.

Hi OCN!
I'll try and take more pics tomorrow (weather permitting.) I looked up Labradorite. Most of the images had a purple/blue tint. I'll see what I can do about lighting.
Thanks for the input!

I would say rutilated quartz for sure on the one, hard to say without seeing the other in person, if it is pale yellowish with maroon/purple ish, could be fluorite,

Hello. The banded one is labradorite. You can tell this by the gem having iridescence when the light is at certain angles and the gem becoming translucent/transparent at other angles. The one with 'grass' in it is, as others have said, rutilated quartz. They are both pretty and popular gemstones. I suggest to have the metal tested b/c the style of the settings is a type that is sometimes not actually sterling silver even though it has the 925 marks (sometimes it is only 800 silver). I hope this helps.
