Can you help me ID this maker’s mark?

Good Morning,

I purchased this ring at auction.  Heavy sterling and what looks to me like jasper?  I am having no luck identifying the maker’s mark.    Looks to be signed “ML” or “MD”?  with a palm tree.

Any input  would be appreciated.  Happy New Year to all!

I've never seen a ring like that.  It looks like it was made in two parts.  I looked around for the mark, but haven't had much luck.  I wish the second letter was clearer.  You'd think a mark with a palm tree would be easy to find but not so much.  I'll keep looking.  Nice ring!
