Okay, this piece is driving me crazy!!!! Its only about 1" in length. I have no idea Who the makers mark identifies. It has the old "C' clasp and is marked WB in a diamond shape. No other marks are found. I don't know if it is a genuine amethyst or purple glass.

Odds are it's glass. No idea who it is/was but I don't think it's horribly old.

What I am seeing are striations and a tiny chip. I'm not sure if I see inclusions though- I can't tell if what I see is in the stone or on the surface- if that makes sense.

Thank you! I just thought because of the c catch it was older. Well, older than me anyway!

Could it by any chance be a WD for Whiting and Davis ? They sometimes put a diamond around their mark and since they have been around so long often make retro jewelry.

The C clasp needs to be also looked at with what the pin hinge looks like, this hinge is not as old as vintage Art Nouveau.
JMHO but it looks more like an artisan piece made in the 1980s when the Art Nouveau style had a revival. It also seems to be something I would see at a Renaissance fair, then the dragon makes sense.

Would you post an additional photo of the front of the pin? I can't claim that will help with identification -- I just want to see it! I love old-style dragon pins. 🙂

Thank you everyone- The mark "stamp" is a capital W and a capital B. I can't get really good close ups because my computer isn't "seeing" my SD card so I have to use my phone to show pics. I too, love Medieval themes! I love dragons!!! So, here are 3 more photo's- my fellow jewelry sleuths!!!

Oh GG, don’t take my word for it, I could easily be wrong

I can't really see the mark. Does it look like this?

Thank you- I've drawn what the mark/stamp is on this brooch/pin. Maybe we should start a thread for "Unsolved Mysteries" on jewelry markings!

We already have a thread for unidentified jewelry marks. 🤓
Its above ^^^^^ in the research and reference section.

We might have to include your WB mark. 😔
PS....It’s in Sandy’s ( flipping treasures ) image event , mystery dangles and marks.
