Are we mens rings or napkin rings?

I picked these up in a dirt cheap lot at a yard sale. At first I thought they were a partial set of napkin rings but my 22 year old nephew has informed me that they are men's rings. If so they are a size 14-15. The opening on them is less than 1" and they are carved wood. Any opinions? The front faces measure approx 2" x 2". thanks.

One inch seems a little small for napkin rings.  Maybe thumb rings or scarf rings?

I vote rings.  Look up the Asian 7 immortals.
