I was having trouble with printing shipping labels after unplugging my printer. It became disconnected with my laptop with has Windows 8.1 I could not print anything never mind shipping labels. I googled something about this issue and read somewhere (can't remember where)that Window's 8.1 will not automatically pick up a printer. After a very frustrating experience I finally got it working to print shipping labels again. But what is happening now it changes the size of the label. Yesterday I printed labels and the size was the same as always. Today I printed a label and it is smaller, I did nothing different with my computer or printer between yesterday and today. BTW I can still use the label so I won't got back through the frustrating experience before. I have a HP Deskjet 1000.
What? if anything can I do about this.
Why is this?
I am considering getting a new printer but don't know what to get. If anyone has fany suggestions let me know that too.
I appreciate any advice, feedback etc
Oh and BTW I HATE windows 8
I have one computer running Windows 8.1 and another Windows 7.
They are connected thru the same router (wifi and wired). Both are able to see the other computer on the network. I am trying to share files between the two. I login to the Win7 machine and selected the directory I want to share. Right click to get to property and sharing. I am not able to find the Win8 machine to grant it the permission to access. I granted the right to SYSTEM and NETWORK, as well as HomeGroupUser. But nowhere I can find the Win8 machine, and I am not able to access the Win7 machine from Win8.
I tried mapping the directory but it said I have no permission.
MS sure made it difficult. XP was pretty straight forward.
Can someone help?
