What are these vintage items

These three silver items measure approx. 3.0" in length, double "blades" section. "Blades" are not sharp but are pointed. Engraved on the backside in a foreign language. I would appreciate era, use, what they are called, etc. frontBacksideboth "blades"frontside viewtop frontbottom front

They look like booksmarks, to me. 

It might help to be able to see the writing but I cannot do so from the photos.  They might be souvenirs, for example.

I agree with Maxine that these are book place holders.  The only thing I can make out on the backs is a silver mark.  A clear close up of just the writing would help.
