Pattern, maker, material of vintage (sterling?) flatware knife?

In a bag of inherited flatware, much of it sterling, is this knife.  Its blade definitely says "STAINLESS", but I can't fully read the line above which ends with "CO".  However, I think I see a leading "N" and read possibly that NIBCO originally made sterling (now best known for copper plumbing fittings).

The handle's pattern looks very old.  I'm not readily finding this pattern online, via G's image search.

Can anyone identify this?  Company, pattern, age?  Is the handle sterling or silverplated?  Worth listing, and if so, for what?

Thanks!

Could it be WINCO?  They've been around for quite awhile.  But, since you don't show the mark, who can say?

Thanks.   Hmmm ... the first letter looks much more like an N than a W.

Well, since you won't show us the mark, all we can do is play guessing games.  I made my guess and I'm gone.  Good luck.

Thanks.  The marks, that survive, are just too small/worn to photograph.  Hopefully someone will recognize the pattern.

There are people here who know how to alter a photo to make things more visible if you're able to take a clear close up of the mark.

Here ya' go.  Told you it was hard to read!   But now maybe I'm seeing something like N.S.CO?

Just the letters, within the shield, and all in one line, yes.

Thanks!  I'm going to say "that's it."

So likely is silverplate, thus not worth listing?
