I believe this to be a very old vase. Any information will be appreciated because we know nothing about it ... except that it was in the shed for many years and looks like dirt daubers took advantage of it to house their nests. I got most of the mud out. It looks like some kind of clay and is incised with lots of eyes. It also appears to be hand made. The chalky white finish has rubbed of in some areas. No signatures or stamps. I don't know why it ended up in the shed. I like it!
Measures: approx. 10 1/4" high. The opening is almost 6" wide and it's 5 1/4" wide across the bottom.

Hi. It looks like a Mayan figure. And it's more likely to be a drinking vessel than a vase. I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject....and couldn't tell you where it was made or if it's genuine (they have been reproducing Mayan pottery for many years). But it may give you a starting point in your research. I hope you're able to get some better answers.

It doesn't look much like a drinking vessel to me (at least, I wouldn't want to put it near my mouth).

I don't think ancient but a 20th c copy of a Maya chocolate cup. Also check Maya Popul Voh imagery. Here is an authentic chocolate cup from Princeton Univ. https://artmuseum.princeton.edu/collections/objects/32221

How about a copy of a "warrior vase" (whatever that may be)? It looks closer in shape:

Wow. That's amazing art work. Way surpasses my "vessel". Thanks for sharing.
