Re: Need help identifying this Chinese piece

It looks like it might be interesting but, unfortunately, I can make nothing of your small and out-of-focus photographs.

What are the dimensions?  Is this metal, or ceramic?  What are the lighter-colored "panels" on the side?  What material are the "panels" made of?  And are the "panels" transparent, like ising-glass;  in whch case, maybe this is a faux lantern of some sort rather than a teapot.  And are their designs / images on the "panels"?

I's really like to see good photos of the thing, including the mark.

Re: Need help identifying this Chinese piece

Thanks for the better pictures.  I think Argon's link shows several that are nearly identical to yours.  It's a pretty, decorative little thing.

Given how many there are on Worthpoint, and how many are for sale currently on eBay, I doubt that most are antique, or even very old, despite the descriptions.

At least you have comparables now, and maybe you can decide about the age.

You can try the Asian Arts Forum, too.

It looks more like a water dropper - as used in painting.
