Hello, I need help identifying this wooden figurine. It appears to be carved from boxwood, ironwood, or some other dark heavy type of wood and exhibits some age. Figure measures at about 3 1/2" by 3" and is fairly detailed for its scale. My initial thought was that it was some kind of foo dog but there are elements that don't fit - then I discovered that there were several chimeric creatures that were part of the mythological Chinese 9 sons of the Dragon King and thought that this could be either the wolf/dragon or lion/dragon but cannot be certain. The style is throwing me off and doesn't seem to fit with any of the regions or periods that I've seen.
