Any thoughts are appreciated! I am pretty sure this is very old but is unmarked...Thanks in advance!

Probably from ca. 1910, Japanese, with heavy moriage - clay slip - decoration added to the design.

I forgot to mention that the base material looks like a faience material, the type of clay used in making Satsuma and some other types of pottery wares, as well as having the crackle glaze. The top may or may not have been broken and 'modified'.

just to note, faience isn't a body or clay, it is a glazing technique.
the body here is earthenware.

Thank you. I stand corrected. Yes, a tin-glazed earthenware.
Some things learned long ago change only in the mind. Guess I had best re-read some lots of things.
