Antique Lamp Age and Maker?

So, what do you think of this auction find? Definitely older. Hand painted. No marks. Thoughts on age or maker?Lamp1.jpgLamp2.jpgLamp3.jpgLamp4.jpgLamp5.jpgLamp6.jpg

The shaft and font are a version of Fragonard, courting couple/love story.

The globe would be a replacement.

Doesn't that plug look art deco? but I think it was used into the early 1950s? But that could be a replacement too (recycled), because the entire lamp strikes me as mid to late 1960s. idk.

Re: Antique Lamp Age and Maker?

Frankly, it looks cobbled together -- the base from here, the globe from there, the wiring and socket perhaps from the other place.   The base and the globe are not the same style, and their proportions are off, and I don't believe they started out life together.

If you bought it for yourself, I hope you enjoy it.  If you bought it for resale, I think you'll have to sell it strictly on its own merits, as a whimsy by an unknown hand.
