To open a Money Back Guarantee case go to the item in your purchase history, click the Return button and select that the item was not as described. Four days later you can go back to the case and ask eBay to step in. You'll get a return label, and once the seller's received the return you'll get a full refund.

Why not simply open an item not as described case?

No need to contact eBay.  Do as Kathiec says.  I will add, be sure to open an Item Not As Described case.  Do not open an Item Not Received case, an error that buyers sometimes make when the wrong item are  received.
