Item changed and account permanently suspended

Hello, my brother recently purchased a pair of sneakers from the Adidas eBay Store using a 50% coupon as a guest. Surprisingly, he received a welcome email with a username and later an order confirmation. However, two days later, he received an email mentioning "bid cancellation," followed by another email on the same day stating that his account was permanently suspended. Despite this, the item was still charged to him with no refund issued. We only discovered this today. Unfortunately, he couldn't contact eBay using the email used for the purchase, so he created an account to reach out to them. We also tried to check the order status using the link provided by the confirmation email but it says it can't be found. Do you have any advice on what should we do?

"Purchased"....or "bid cancellation" ?

"50% coupon"?...didn't know those were out there.

"account permanently suspended"....eBay if it was eBay usually tells you why.

If "charged"..."refund" will come back on card issued in a few days usually.

Yes. That's weird it was a normal purchase, not a bid. But the email said it was a bid cancellation, don't know why. And yes, there are coupons at ebay you can check that out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155920401581?itmmeta=01HW4BSPP7YYWV482R9BYY4F8H&hash=item244d9484ad:g:2lwAA...

Those are the exact sneakers ordered. It's a coupon that autoapplies at checkout. I hope you're right about the refund.

Bid cancellation is just a general term for cancellation.

If the purchase was cancelled, a refund wouldn't be instant it takes at least 7-10 business days to show in the credit card used. It also depends on how the bank handles refunds.

Also opening new accounts after a suspension is not going to turn out well, as the new account and any other accounts by association, will be banned. That includes all accounts under the same IP address.
