Don't trust eBay's Authenticity Guarantee.

They have no ability to verify authenticity.
They will pass products that are obviously counterfeit as authentic.
And the onus is on the consumer.
There are no returns.
If you buy from eBay and rely on their verification, eBay will tell you to sell on eBay again.

After two experiences, I don't trust eBay's authenticity verification.

Most of those items like the rubber shoes are made in more than one factory with different tooling by the lowest bidder.  Authenticity just means the brand name got their cut of the money.  Then too it's a judgement call by people with little training.

Don't trust eBay's Authenticity Guarantee.

There unfortunately have been ongoing issues with eBay's refusal to address the fact that its authenticators are, in fact, human and therefore do make mistakes. Until eBay comes up with a process to address the inevitable errors that occur the program, while its intent was good, is never going to fulfill its initial promise.
