seller says won't pay return shipping after eBay said they must

I sent back a return using eBay process throughout. EBay said seller will pay return shipping as its not as described. Just got message from seller saying they just spoke to eBay, and eBay said it will be treated as normal return, I pay return shipping. Wouldn't I see a msg from eBay saying it was changed? I even asked them for larger size, but they didn't have in stock.
