ordering from Ebay, getting items from Amazon?

At least twice in the last month or so I have ordered items from an Ebay seller. They arrived, delivered by an Amazon truck, were packaged in Amazon packaging and had coupons in them for Amazon  sellers. One of the items was an item sold by an independent seller who has product website separate from Ebay, their company name was on the item. That item was the wrong item; the return instructions were for returning through Amazon. When I contacted the Ebay seller they wanted to email a refund label to my personal email instead of through Ebay. I refused to do that, finally got it sorted out; But realized later the actual item I wanted was available from original seller at 1/4 the cost. I was charged 35.00 for a 6.00 item and it was shipped through Amazon by an Ebay seller. Something seems amiss...any thoughts anyone?
