eBay Sneaker Authentication policy

I was under the impression that all Nike sneakers listed as either new or new without a box and over a certain dollar amount were authenticated prior to the sneakers being sent to the buyer. On the eBay website it says, “eBay has a money back guarantee, get the item you ordered or your money back.” How do I know if I got the item that I ordered if I can’t confirm its authenticity. There are plenty of great fakes out there. It appears as though the seller is sending the shoes directly to me versus sending them to be authenticated first. eBay apparently does not allow me as the buyer to have it authenticated on my own through eBay. Would there be an issue if after I received the shoes, if I started an auction to, “sell the shoes” so that way as the seller I could have the shoes authenticated and then just cancel the auction? Would that be allowed?
